Arunkumar Ramanlal Gandhi became an executive director, Tata Sons, in August 2003, and is a member of the Group Corporate Centre. He is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales, and that of India. He is an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, London.

Prior to joining Tata Sons, he was a senior partner at M/s N. M. Raiji & Company from July 1969 to July 2003. The firm has more than 60 years of professional standing. He joined the firm as a partner in July 1969 and, in 1993, became a senior partner. During his tenure with the firm, he handled a varietyof client engagements, including advisory services relating to mergers and acquisitions. He was also involved with the tax advisory for both national and international issues, structuring efficient investment routes, designing employee stock option plans and statutory, internal and management audits.

He is a director in several listed companies such as The Paper Products, Tata Tea Ltd., Tata Communications Ltd. & Benaras Hotels Ltd.

He is also on the panel of arbitrators of the Indian Merchants' Chamber and on the advisory council of the Premchand Roychand Group of Companies.
