The BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) is software that acts as a centralized link between devices + enterprise applications + wireless networks. The BES software will be installed on a server at your premises. It meets the need of business of having its own need of email and data infrastructure.
CAL
Client Access Licenses (CALs) which is a part of the BES is the license to access corporate mail on handheld.
- It is a one time purchase
- It is transferable within the organization
- CAL is allocated to a handheld
- CALs are initially bundled in lots of 1, 15, 20 etc along with the BES software.
- Additional CALs can be purchased in denominations of 1 , 5, 10 , 50 , 100 and 1000
