Tata Teleservices Affirmative Action Policy

Tata Teleservices believes that for accelerating growth and competitiveness in the rapidly developing economy, organizations must have autonomy and flexibility in order to create and expand job/income generation opportunities for all sections of society. Within this framework, Tata Teleservices commits to Affirmative Actions for social equity for the disadvantaged sections of the society (particularly Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes) in the workplace, in business partnerships and in capacity building.

Tata Teleservices recognizes that diversity in the workplace positively impacts business. For the socially disadvantaged, the company will ensure equal employment opportunities.

Tata Teleservices will also undertake initiatives that increase the employability/income generation potential for the socially disadvantaged communities. The company will encourage development of business entrepreneurship from members of the socially disadvantaged communities through their participation in the company’s Distribution Channels and the Supply Chain on the basis of equal merit.

The Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives of Tata Teleservices will aim at developing the disadvantaged sections of the society.

Tata Teleservices has framed and adopted a Code of Conduct for Affirmative Actions. Tata Teleservices will report progress on Affirmative Actions in its Annual Report.

  • Tata Teleservices affirms the recognition that its competitiveness is interlinked with the well being of all sections of the society. Tata Teleservices also affirms the recognition that the diversity reflecting disadvantaged sections of the society in the workplace has a positive impact on business.
  • Tata Teleservices believes that equal opportunity in employment for all sections of society is a component of its growth and competitiveness. It further believes that inclusive growth is a component of growth and development of the country.
  • Tata Teleservices will not practice or support conscious discrimination in any form.
  • Tata Teleservices, subject to merit, provides employment opportunities to applicants belonging to disadvantaged sections of the society if such applicants possess competitive skills and experience.

  • Tata Teleservices will undertake projects in the domain of Corporate Social Responsibility aimed at developing the disadvantaged sections of the society.
  • The Principal Executive Officer to the CEO will oversee and promote the Affirmative Action Policies and Programs. The PEO will present a bi-annual report to the company about such policies and programs.
  • Tata Teleservices will make available its learning and experiences as a good corporate citizen in Affirmative Action to other organizations desirous to incorporate such policies in their own business.
