- Tata Indicom RemoMail Executive provides Tata Indicom mobile
customers, access to personal & business mails on their
BREW or Java handsets.
- Online mails that can be accessed: Yahoo.co.in, Yahoo.com,
Hotmail.com, Msn.com, Sify.com, Gmail.com, Rediffmail.com, Indiatimes.com,
Vsnl.com, Vsnl.net.
- PoP/ IMAP mail accounts: Any business mail account that is
accessible using PoP3 and IMAP4 protocols.
- Corporate mail accounts: Any corporate mail account using
MS Exchange (Ver 2000 and 2003) or Lotus Notes (Ver 5.x, 6.x
and 7.x) using web access.
- Reply, Reply All and Forward the text portion of emails.
- Create and attach a custom signature to the mails being sent.
- Compose and send new emails (up to 510 characters on most
handsets), with ability to send Cc and Bcc of the same.

- Go to your mobile phone’s main menu and select the
Fun & Utilities or BREW Apps menu item. Depending on your
phone model, the menu item name may vary.
- Select Start BREW, which will take you to the BREW Applications
area.
- Choose Mobile Shop. A catalog will be displayed with all
the applications that can be downloaded with the applicable
charges alongside.
- Select Mobile Mail & RemoMail Executive to download
the application.
- Once you have downloaded Tata Indicom RemoMail icon will
be displayed in the BREW application area of your phone.

- To subscribe to Tata Indicom RemoMail Executive on a WAP
handset the customer needs to download it in the following
manner:
- Navigate your mobile phone’s main menu to TATA zone.
A catalog will be displayed with all the applications that
can be downloaded over the air with the Applicable charges
alongside.
- Select Acess Your Office Mail to download the application.
- Please ensure that there is adequate memory space on your
phone before you start the download. You can free memory space
by deleting unused applications from your phone.
- Once you have Purchased a Tata Indicom RemoMail Executive
icon will be displayed in the WAP application area of your
phone.

- Compose and send new emails (up to 510 characters on most
handsets), with ability to send Cc and Bcc of the same.
- Create and store custom Quick Messages for fast mail composition.
- Access up to five email accounts, which you have defined.
- There is also an easy to use Help Section that offers quick
reference to tips.

configure your account settings the first time by providing relevant
account information for example, User id, password, incoming and
outgoing server address. |

- When Tata Indicom RemoMail Executive icon is displayed,
“Press OK”. The 'Select Providers' screen will
be displayed.
- Select your service provider (which means Yahoo!, Hotmail,
etc.) from the list and “Press OK”.
- If your service provider is not in the list go for 'More'
option and select a service provider from the next list or
you can Select 'Other POP' or 'Other IMAP'
option and set your own account.
- For setting up your own account, you will have to enter
the User ID, Password, email address, Incoming and Outgoing
Servers and the Port. You can also
enable SSL (Secure Socket Layer) for secure mail transfer.
- Enter the User ID.
- Enter the Password.
- Press OK and the connection will be established.

- Select Corporate Mail from the More Providers list.
- The ‘Server Type’ screen is displayed. Depending
on the corporate mail server used by your organization, select
either MS Exchange or Lotus Notes from the Server Type list.
If you are using MS Exchange Server:
- Select MS Exchange from the Server Type List.
- In the ‘Server Version’ screen, select either
MS Exchange 2000 or MS Exchange 2003 depending on the server
version used by your company. Press OK.
- Enter the relevant URL to get connected to that account,
which you will get from your local system admin.
- Enter your corporate user ID and password.
- Enter the email address corresponding to the corporate URL
that you entered earlier.
If you are using Lotus Notes Mail Server:
- Select Lotus Notes from the Server Type list.
- In the ‘Server Version’ screen, select Lotus
Notes 5.x, Lotus Notes 6.x or Lotus Notes 7.x depending on
the server version used by your company. Select OK.
- Enter the relevant URL to get connected to that account,
which you will get from your local system admin.
- Enter your corporate user ID and password.
- Enter the email address corresponding to the corporate URL
that you entered earlier

- Select Other POP or Other IMAP from the Select Providers
list.
- Enter your user ID and select OK. Note that a user name
will be the entire Email address, such as joe@mycompanyname.com.
You can enter a maximum of 64 characters.
- You have an option to save your password on the mobile phone
to avoid entering your password each time you login to your
account. However, do remember that there are certain risks
in saving your password. Select or Deselect the Save Password
checkbox, as per what you decide.
- Enter your password.
- Enter your email address. Note that you can enter a maximum
of 64 characters.
- The ‘Incoming Server’ screen is displayed. Enter
your Incoming Server Address and select OK. Incoming server
is either your POP mail address (such as pop.domainname.com)
or your IMAP IP address (such as 11.234.567.890). Consult
your Email service provider to obtain the correct address.
- The ‘Incoming SSL’ screen is displayed. If your
email server requires that you activate SSL, press OK to select
the Enable Incoming SSL checkbox and then select OK in the
Options toolbar. If not, simply select OK to bypass SSL configuration.
(SSL is Secure Socket Layer, it is a feature for secure mail
transfer)
- The ‘Incoming Port Number’ screen is displayed.
Tata Indicom RemoMail Executive displays a default Incoming
Port Number but this can be changed. However, there is no
need to change this. Select OK to bypass the step.
- If you want to change the incoming port number, contact
your Email service provider for the correct information. Enter
the relevant port number and select OK.
- The ‘Outgoing Server’ is displayed. Tata Indicom
RemoMail Executive displays the address of the default outgoing
server as Remoba SMTP server. Select OK to bypass the step
and keep the default server. If you wish to use your own outgoing
server, enter the relevant server address and select OK. (Consult
your Email service provider to obtain the correct information).
- The ‘Enable Outgoing SSL’ screen is displayed.
If your SMTP server requires that you activate SSL, press
OK to select the Enable Outgoing SSL checkbox and select OK.
If not, select OK to bypass Outgoing SSL.
- The ‘Outgoing Port Number’ screen is displayed.
If using the default outgoing server, select OK to bypass
this step. If you are using your own outgoing server, enter
the relevant port number and select OK.
